The curse... is it broken yet?

What's the main news this week in my area, it's Colonel Sanders Statue from KFC.

Colonel stages a comeback - The Japan Times

supposedly, the curse was lifted when he was found on this Tues.

Similar to the curse of Bambino of Red Sox, Boston baseball team, there is an urban legend that since someone dumped Colonel Sanders into a river in Namba, Japan 24 years ago, Hanshin Tigers, Kansai's baseball team, hasn't won Japanese version of World Series. Well... actually, for the past 40 years or something but that's not important.

Yeah... it was strange since I was riding a train on Wed on the way to work, and saw that sludge covered statue on the front page of sports newspapers and major newspapers. They say that if they converted the media's airtime featuring that statue with how much they spend on ads, it will be ~ 27 million yen, half a month worth of profit of KFCs in Japan.

Baseball fans are happy, KFCs are happy, one TV show that always searched for that statue for the past decade is happy, and yep, that's what's filling Japanese newspapers and TV for this week.

It must have been amusing to be standing on a few meters of sludge for 20 something years, since he's still smiling.

:p

I am still working on the next illustration. Dunno when it will be up, but it's starting to look better than before
